2022-06-14: Saint Jean de Losne -> Auxonne

After another late start, we went around town. Not too many things to see. We found a memorial commemorating the defeat of a siege of the local inhabitants and a small French garrison against the imperial troops of holy Roman empire during the war of 30 years (with the average live being a lot shorter than today, the next generation continuing the fight probably never really knew how the war had started and what they were fighting for). We topped up our coke and ice cream supplies in a supermarche near the harbor and then set sail back to Auxonne, The voyage following the Saone upstream was uneventful but nice. Felix in particular enjoyed being on the helm.

Alarm is beeping, but Felix is deeply sleeping and not at all ready to get up

Port de Saint Jean de Losne

One of the bigger streets of Saint Jean de Losne. The chimneys of the houses look very much alike those in England.
