As usual, we started the day slow and left the port around 11:30h. About an hour later we passed the lock of Conflandey. We then tried to get a view onto the castle at Ile de Cantin. It is completely hidden behind trees and vegetation. We circled the island twice to get a good view. The best view I got onto the building was through a reflection in the river.
We arrived in Traves around 4:30 p.m.—early enough to learn that the marina and the nearby restaurant were under new management, and—more importantly—to book a table at the restaurant. Apparently, the business was run solely by the owner, his girlfriend or wife, and one additional chef, so they had their hands full. The food was outstanding and left us absolutely delighted.
