2020-08-12: S0410585 in Filderstadt

S0410585 flew on the morning on Aug 12th from the DWD weather station on a hill in Stuttgart ( Schnarrenberg ) to a field in Filderstadt. A day later, I drove by  expecting not to find a trace of it. It lay however in a field ready for pickup. The probe casing as well as the PCB in the probe are dented. Probably a tractor or mobile sprinkler system ran over it. The sensor beam looks intact.  When supplying the probe with a power supply the self test does not pass however.  In most cases, the root cause is the temperature sensors on the beam being broken.

Landing position was 48.6721N 9.19719E. Last telemetry was received from 48.6719N 9.19827 in 593 m height at 2020-08-12 01:12:55 by radiosondy.info.
