2018-04-03: Vulcano near Lajares (1/2)

After hanging out a couple of days, it became time for some action. So Gisela, Felix, my mother, and I  rented a car and went to a extinct vulcano near Lajares. We parked the car nearby and started to hike up to the crater rim. Gisela and Felix went ahead, and I and my mother followed. My mother and I decided to leave charted territory and go straight up to rim of the crater. This turned out to be more difficult than anticipated. The slope was steeper than it had looked from below and with every step the gravel under our feet would start to slide down. We managed to get to the top without casualties and were rewarded with a terrific view. We went around the crater rim to a viewing platform where we catched up with Felix and Gisela who had found new friends by now: A bunch of squirls liked Felix and Gisela for being hand-fed.

On the way back, Felix got tired. Playing catch he tagged along to the car without him thinking about the distance.

In the evening Felix, my mum, and myself went star gazing in the dunes of Corralejo. Sitting under the stars and hearing the distant noise of the ocean was nice and relaxing — so relaxing that Felix fell asleep deeply. After waking him up, he went tiered but stalwart back to the car.
