2019-03-23: RS41 near Filderstadt

After months of north wind, a probe finally made it into the vicinity of Stuttgart. The probe had landed during the night. I went there the next morning and arrived close to 10 AM. Nearing the point from were the last telemetry of the probe was received, there was no signal. It was not likely that somebody had already looked for the probe and collected it. So the battery must have run out. I went to the landing point that was predicted by www.radiosondy.info to no avail. I then went back to the point of last telemetry and continued in direction of 70° as this was the last transmitted direction of the probe. Shortly later, I first saw the parachute high up in a tree. Backtracking the thread fixed between the parachute and the probe, I found the probe. Using some branches that were lying around, I was able to pull down the probe and retrieve it.
