The weather improved (thanks Pauline for letting me know), and I rented another 4WD. I made the full loop from south coast to north coast, and driving into the setting sun, I arrived Akana beach just in time.<\/p>\n

Road Block<\/span><\/p>\n

The local indigenous people of Rapa Nui kicked out the official park administration and seized it to give point to their political demands. I understand they want to administer the park themselves. Currently, a nationwide organization in charge for all national parks, CONAF, is handling that. The installed road blocks, but normally let tourists pass.<\/p>\n

There are several maps available, and they slightly differ. That makes it cumbersome to spot some of the ahus.<\/p>\n
