Flying over the Andes and into Santiago de Chile afforded me some amazing sights &#8212; a landscape full of chiseled hills torched by\u00a0 blazing sun rays that was glowing reddish in the morning sun. There was no turbulence during the final approach &#8212; the plane smoothly glided down to the runway. Temperature is a comfortable 30 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>As always, immigrations and customs took its time. I arrived in the hotel at noon.
