Another day, and the prediction suggest that the probe would go down in Renningen near Stuttgart. Felix and myself started a little bit late, and only made it to Gerbersheim (near Leonberg — see also\u00a0 map). There we looked for an elevated location and started to track the probe.<\/p>\n

The last received telemetry data took us to Schwarzenberg. Even before reaching Schwarzenberg, we already received the signal of the landed probe. We went to the point of where we received the probe last, parked, assembled the radio and got out of the car. The strongest signal came from straight ahead – where a black Mercedes parked about 10 meters away.<\/p>\n

A guy standing next to black Mercedes saw us, wondered about the probe signal emitted by our radio, waved at us, and told us that we could stop looking for the probe. He had just found it in a nearby\u00a0Alpakas barn, collected it, and stored it into the trunk of his car. Technically, we had found the probe — in the trunk of a car. The probe was badly damaged during landing which is kind of unusual. We exchanged information on how to locate probes. Then Felix and I saddled up and drove back to Stuttgart (making a by now almost customary stop at a Mc Donalds restaurant).<\/p>\n
