It is still in a pristine state and probably the last big wilderness on the planet. Antarctica takes things really slowly. 50 years whizz by like\u00a0 nothing. In terms of animal life, there is only a limited number of species that are all feeding from each other. If one is taken out, the whole system is impacted.
