2015-04-25: The ESO Observatory on Mount Paranal and Mano del Desierto (3/3)

After visiting Paranal, I returned in direction to Antofagasta. I detoured to visit Mano del Desierto, a stone hand in the middle of the desert. The artist Mario Irarrázabal sculptured it in 1992 to express the feeling of  injustice, loneliness, sorrow and torture. The concept of loneliness I can understand given the geographic location of the hand, and the emptiness of the desert around it.
